The controversy deepened with a statement from Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, who pledged unwavering loyalty to Governor Makinde amid rumors of impeachment moves. Oyekola disclosed details of a meeting between the Speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, and Oba Ladoja, where the monarch allegedly offered to secure a House of Representatives ticket for Ogundoyin under the APC, along with financial support for his election campaign. According to Oyekola, the Speaker declined this offer and similarly rejected advances from former First Lady Florence Ajimobi.
Oyekola firmly dissociated himself from any activities that could disrupt Oyo State's peace, reaffirming his commitment to Governor Makinde's administration.
