The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State has officially disowned a purported 'Apex Committee' that has been circulating in some quarters, declaring that this body is neither recognized nor part of the party's constitutional structure. In a statement issued by the state leadership, the party cautioned members, stakeholders, and the general public against taking directives or information from the said group, describing it as unauthorized and unknown to the leadership in Ogun.
Party Leadership Issues Stern Warning
The statement, which was released to clarify the situation, read: 'The so-called Apex Committee is not known to or recognized by the party leadership in Ogun State. Members are advised to disregard any information or directives emanating from such a body.' This move aims to prevent confusion and maintain order within the party's ranks, as the leadership seeks to uphold transparency and due process.
Suspension of Deputy Financial Secretary Contest
In addition to disowning the committee, the ADC announced that the contest for the position of Deputy Financial Secretary between Hon. Dimeji Fabiyi and Hon. Rotimi George-Taylor has been put on hold by the National Executive Committee (NEC). This suspension is pending further directives, indicating a cautious approach to internal elections to ensure fairness and compliance with party regulations.
Screening of Aspirants to Proceed as Scheduled
