ADC Warns Public: Fake Membership Registration Links in Circulation
ADC Disowns Fraudulent Membership Registration Links

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a strong warning to Nigerians, disowning several online links and websites falsely presented as its official membership registration portal.

ADC Clarifies Position on Registration

In a statement released on 11 January 2026 by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the opposition party clarified that it has not launched any public online membership registration link. The ADC urged all members, supporters, and the general public to completely disregard the circulating links, labeling them as fraudulent.

The party emphasized that it is currently developing its official registration and verification platform. A formal announcement will be made through verified party channels when the platform is ready for launch.

How to Spot and Avoid the Scam

The ADC's statement provided clear guidance on how the public can protect themselves from these scams. The party warned that it will never request payments or sensitive personal information through unofficial channels like WhatsApp messages, direct messages, or third-party websites.

The public is advised to take the following precautions:

  • Do not click on suspicious or unverified links claiming to be from ADC.
  • Do not share unconfirmed registration messages on social media.
  • Do not submit personal information—including name, phone number, Permanent Voter Card (PVC) details, Bank Verification Number (BVN), or payment details—to any unverified platform.

Official Channels and Next Steps

The party stressed that all legitimate announcements, including the launch of the official membership registration platform, will be communicated exclusively through verified ADC platforms and formal statements from the party leadership.

The ADC is actively addressing this issue and has pledged to take all necessary steps to protect the public and preserve the integrity of the party. It also called on security operatives to investigate the matter, noting that those behind the fraudulent links have exposed themselves.

Members of the public who encounter suspicious links are encouraged to report them to the ADC through its official communication channels only.
