The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially declared Hon. Idris Adamu Yanoko as its governorship candidate for Kano State in preparation for the 2027 general elections. Yanoko emerged as the sole candidate under the faction led by Nafiu Bala Gombe in Kano.
Consensus Agreement
Hon. Musa Nuhu Yankaba, the acting chairman of the party in Kano, presented Yanoko before the factional national chairman, Nafi'u Bala Gombe. Yankaba revealed that Yanoko's emergence followed a consensus agreement among stakeholders. He stated that the decision came after extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders, expressing confidence in Yanoko's ability to provide effective leadership for Kano State if elected.
Strengthening Party Structures
Yankaba added that the ADC is intensifying efforts to strengthen its structures across Kano and other parts of the country in preparation for the 2027 elections. The party aims to build momentum and ensure a strong presence in the upcoming polls.
