Salami Pledges Better Welfare for Ado-Igbesa Residents

The Chief Executive Officer of Amuwa Comfort Communication, Abiola Salami, has pledged to support and empower vulnerable people in Ado-Igbesa, Ogun State. He made this commitment while declaring his intention to represent the Ado-Igbesa State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly.

Commitment to the People

Speaking during an interaction with community leaders, youths, market men and women, and supporters across parts of the constituency, Salami expressed his deep passion for improving the lives of ordinary people. He emphasized his desire to provide purposeful leadership capable of addressing the pressing needs of the constituency. The indigene of Okejana Quarters, Idosiki in Ado-Odo, maintained that the people of Ado-Igbesa deserve a representative who understands their daily struggles, listens to their concerns, and is willing to attract meaningful development to the area.

Focus on Youth Empowerment

Salami noted that for many years, numerous young people in the constituency have struggled with unemployment, lack of opportunities, and limited access to empowerment initiatives. He stated that one of his core priorities, if elected, would be to champion youth empowerment and employment through strategic programmes, vocational training, business support schemes, and partnerships capable of creating sustainable opportunities for the younger generation.

“Our youths are talented, creative, and hardworking, but many of them lack opportunities to fully express their potential. We cannot continue to ignore the future of our young people. We must create an environment where they can learn, grow, build businesses, and contribute meaningfully to society,” Salami stated. He further explained that empowering youths would not only reduce unemployment but also help curb social vices and stimulate economic growth within communities across Ado-Igbesa.

Infrastructure Development

Salami also emphasized the urgent need for infrastructure development within the constituency, stressing that many communities still face serious challenges relating to poor road networks, inadequate drainage systems, unstable electricity supply, and limited access to basic social amenities. He pledged to use his position to advocate strongly for infrastructure projects that would improve the standard of living of residents and boost commercial activities in the constituency.

“Development must get closer to our people. Good roads, proper drainage, stable electricity, quality healthcare facilities, and better educational support are not luxuries; they are necessities. Our people deserve better living conditions, and I will continue to push for projects that directly impact their lives,” he said.

Accountable Leadership

Salami also stressed the importance of accountable and responsive leadership, noting that many elected officials often become distant from the people after assuming office. He promised to maintain close contact with constituents through regular consultations, community engagements, and an open-door approach to governance. According to him, effective representation goes beyond occupying political office, adding that true leadership requires humility, accessibility, transparency, and consistent engagement with the people.

“I understand the pains and challenges our people face because I come from this community. I know what many families are going through, and I know the expectations of our youths, traders, artisans, and elders. My mission is to be a strong and reliable voice for the people and to ensure that Ado-Igbesa gets the attention and development it deserves,” he added.

Community Support

Some youth leaders in the constituency expressed confidence in his vision, describing his emergence as a positive development for young people seeking a more inclusive and development-focused leadership.
