In a significant move to modernise its operations, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has officially commenced a digital membership registration drive. The exercise was launched by the state governor, Agbu Kefas, in Wukari Local Government Area.
A New Era of Party Membership
Governor Agbu Kefas formally inaugurated the APC digital membership registration on Thursday in Wukari council. He described the initiative as a crucial step towards creating a credible and transparent system for the party. According to Kefas, the electronic process is designed to provide equal opportunities for every member by capturing their details digitally.
The governor made it clear that participation is not optional. No member will be revalidated without completing the electronic registration, he stated, underscoring the mandatory nature of the exercise. He called on all party faithful to actively participate to ensure their status as bona fide members is recognised.
Special Focus on Women and Key Endorsements
During the launch event, Governor Kefas placed special emphasis on the role of women in the party. He identified them as the backbone and primary mobilisers, reaffirming his administration's commitment to supporting greater female involvement in both politics and party activities.
Kefas also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for championing the digital registration initiative and entrusting state governors with its implementation. He further commended the dedication of the APC National Chairman towards strengthening the party's structures nationwide.
Strengthening the Party's Foundation
The Taraba State APC Chairman, Barrister El-Sudi Ibrahim, praised Governor Kefas and the e-registration committee for their efforts. He hailed the digital drive as a landmark initiative that will fortify the party's internal framework, enhance transparency, and set the stage for future electoral successes.
Earlier, Ayuba Ambo, the Zonal Administrator for the APC e-registration exercise, reported that he had been monitoring progress across the zone. He appealed for additional support to enable the committee to register more members effectively and efficiently.
The launch in Wukari Local Government Area marks the beginning of a state-wide effort to digitise and streamline the APC's membership base in Taraba, aligning with the national party's vision for a more accountable and organised structure.
