The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Jamilu Ilya Gwamna, has expressed confidence that the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya will secure the party's electoral victory in the 2027 general elections.
Gwamna, who emerged as the APC standard bearer through a direct primary, expressed gratitude to the outgoing governor, Yahaya, for his purposeful leadership, political maturity, and unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of the party and the state. He noted that under Yahaya's administration, Gombe State has witnessed remarkable progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, security, and human capital development. These achievements, he said, have strengthened public confidence in the APC and positioned the state on a path of sustainable growth.
Reflecting on the courageous programs and reform policies of President Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda, Gwamna emphasized that these accomplishments have provided the party with a strong foundation and renewed determination as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.
Extending a hand of fellowship to his fellow contestants, Gwamna urged unity within the APC in Gombe State, stressing the need for the party to remain focused and fully prepared to consolidate on its gains and continue delivering purposeful leadership to the people. He said, "My fellow aspirants and contestants, I wish to sincerely thank you for your courage, maturity, and contributions to strengthening our party through healthy democratic engagement. The primaries have come and gone, and now is the time for all of us to come together on the same ship with one shared destination: the continued progress, unity, and development of Gombe State. While we may have pursued different aspirations during the contest, our ultimate agenda has always remained the same: to build a stronger, more prosperous, and more united Gombe State. We must therefore eschew every form of division arising from the primaries and embrace reconciliation, mutual respect, and collective responsibility as one united political family."
The APC governorship hopeful commended the party's executives at all levels, including stakeholders, supporters, and members of political parties across the state, for their sacrifices, commitment, and contributions throughout the process. He declared, "The successful conduct of these primaries has once again demonstrated that the APC in Gombe State remains a party built on consultation, inclusiveness, transparency, and respect for democratic participation. It is a victory for the entire APC family and for all those who believe in peaceful and responsible politics."
