Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has officially inaugurated five new special advisers, tasking them with a core mission to enhance collaboration and ensure the smooth operation of government for the benefit of the state's people.
Governor's Charge at Swearing-In Ceremony
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Friday, January 3, 2026. Governor Fubara made it clear that the appointments were a strategic move designed to strengthen teamwork within his administration. He emphasized that their primary role is to ensure the machinery of governance functions both smoothly and efficiently.
He urged the newly appointed officials to remain steadfastly committed to his administration's vision, which centres on delivering effective, people-centred governance. The governor warned against any form of complacency, stating that achieving good governance requires a collective effort, discipline, and a strong sense of shared responsibility.
Familiar Faces for a Clear Direction
Governor Fubara explained that the five advisers were not chosen at random. They were carefully selected because of their existing familiarity with the philosophy and direction of his government. Each appointee has previously worked with the governor in various capacities.
"These are not new faces. They have been with us and have worked with us," Fubara stated. "They understand the philosophy of this administration, and it will not be difficult for them to align and ensure that our goals are achieved."
The five individuals sworn into office are:
- Eloka Tasie-Amadi
- Prof. Peter Medee
- Emmanuel Frank Fubara
- Victor Ekaro
- Dr. Darlington Orji
Appointments Are a Call to Service, Not Ceremony
The governor stressed that the positions are not merely ceremonial. He framed them as a significant opportunity for the advisers to contribute meaningfully to governance and improve service delivery for all residents of Rivers State.
Fubara expressed his administration's unwavering focus on purposeful leadership and tangible results. He voiced confidence that the new team of advisers would work cohesively to translate government policies and programs into concrete outcomes that positively impact the state and its people.
