Kaduna Governor Uba Sani Issues Stern Warning to Conflict Entrepreneurs Over Insecurity
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has delivered a firm warning to individuals and groups he described as "conflict entrepreneurs," cautioning that his administration will not tolerate the politicization of insecurity within the state. He emphasized that any attempts to undermine the prevailing peace will be met with the full force of the law, underscoring his constitutional duty to protect lives and property without compromise.
Governor's Remarks at State Security Council Meeting
Governor Sani made these declarations during his opening address at the State Security Council meeting, held at the Council Chambers of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House. He stated, "We are not unaware of those who seek to test our resolve. We are monitoring developments closely, and we are prepared to act. Kaduna State will not return to a past defined by violence, fear, and division. That chapter is closed."
He highlighted the success of his administration since taking office on May 29, 2023, noting that Kaduna State has not experienced any ethno-religious conflicts or farmer-herder clashes during this period. This achievement, he attributed to a preventive approach to security challenges.
Kaduna Peace Model and Proactive Security Measures
Governor Sani detailed the Kaduna Peace Model, which he described as a security strategy centered on inclusivity, intelligence-led operations, inter-agency coordination, and community ownership. He explained, "This model has shifted our posture from reactive containment to proactive prevention. Our most critical asset remains intelligence. We have strengthened systems for timely information gathering and real-time sharing across agencies, enabling us to detect threats early, disrupt criminal networks, and prevent escalation."
He further stressed that Kaduna State is increasingly recognized for this coordinated approach, with clear results demonstrating its effectiveness. However, he warned that progress requires ongoing vigilance, especially as the threat landscape evolves and becomes more complex, potentially influenced by political opportunism.
Acknowledgment of Support and Tribute to Security Forces
Governor Sani acknowledged the strong support from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government, which has provided critical assistance through enhanced coordination and institutional reforms. He also commended the Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, for his dedication to duty, and paid tribute to the gallant men and women of the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other security agencies.
He stated, "Your courage, discipline, and sacrifice continue to shield our people from harm. You operate in difficult and often dangerous conditions, yet remain steadfast in your duty. Kaduna State recognises your service and stands firmly behind you."
Role of Community Stakeholders in Sustaining Peace
The Governor also highlighted the vital role of traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders in maintaining security. He noted that their influence at the grassroots level strengthens trust, promotes dialogue, and prevents conflict. "Security is not sustained by force alone; it is built on legitimacy, cooperation, and shared values. Your contributions remain central to our success," he added.
Governor Sani concluded by urging citizens not to rest on their oars, particularly as the state approaches a sensitive political period. He cautioned against attempts to exploit divisions and destabilize communities, reaffirming his administration's commitment to a peaceful and secure Kaduna State.
