Osun Monarch Issues Stern Warning Over Unauthorized Land Transactions

In a significant development from Osun State, the Olojudo of Ido-Ayegunle in Obokun Local Council, Oba Timileyin Ajayi, has publicly disowned all ongoing land sales within his community. The monarch, in a statement released on Tuesday, emphasized that he has neither approved nor authorized any land transactions since ascending the throne, cautioning prospective buyers to exercise extreme vigilance.

Monarch Clarifies Legitimate Land Deals

Oba Ajayi made it clear that the only land purchases he recognizes are those conducted during his father's lifetime. He stated, "I did not approve the sale of land to anybody, and I have not authorised anyone to sell land in Ido-Ayegunle village." The traditional ruler further explained that legitimate buyers from his father's era must present valid receipts for verification to gain his approval. "It is only those who bought land from my father while he was alive that I recognise. They will need to verify their receipts, and those are the only purchases I can approve," he added.

Warning Against Unauthorized Sales

The monarch issued a strong warning against individuals currently engaging in land sales without his consent. He stressed, "Anyone buying land since I became king is not advised to do so. We are not selling our land to anyone, and I did not authorise anybody to sell the land in our village." Oba Ajayi also highlighted that reports of land sales across various villages in Ido-Ayegunle are entirely unauthorized, urging buyers to be aware that they are dealing at their own risk.
