Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has officially enacted the state's financial plan for the 2026 fiscal year, signing a historic budget valued at over N1.4 trillion into law. The signing ceremony took place on December 31, 2025, at the Government House Annex in Eziachi Umuna, Orlu.

A Visionary Roadmap for Economic Prosperity

Governor Uzodimma formally assented to the appropriation bill, which had been presented to him by the State House of Assembly and is christened the "Budget of Economic Breakthrough." He described the budget as a unique and visionary document designed to transition Imo State from recovery to a phase of total economic harvest.

"This document is the final bridge between our strategic planning and the economic prosperity we have promised our people," Uzodimma stated. He assured citizens of a meticulous implementation process, emphasizing that the administration would not merely spend but invest with precision to realize every objective.

Commitment to Service and Acknowledgment of Support

During the event, the governor commended the Imo State House of Assembly for its partnership and support. He attributed the successes of his administration to leadership ingenuity and the support from President Bola Tinubu. Uzodimma pledged his continued and total commitment to serving the people of Imo in the new year.

"We have the resources, we have the plan, and we have the political will. 2026 will be the year our people will feel even more concrete impact of these investments in every household," the governor declared.

Fifth Consecutive Year of Bonus for Civil Servants

In a related development, Governor Uzodimma has, for the fifth consecutive year, directed the payment of a 13th-month yearly bonus salary to all civil servants in the state's employ. This directive was confirmed in a statement issued by the Governor's Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Prince Eze Ugochukwu.

This move reinforces the governor's stated commitment to policy implementation, transparency, and quality governance. The high-profile signing ceremony was attended by key state officials including the Acting Chief Judge, Justice Ijeoma Agugua; the Deputy Governor, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru; the Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Amara Iwuanyanwu; and the Clerk of the House, Chinaelo Emeghara.
