Tabitha-Abimbola Foundation Brings Christmas Joy to Girls in Lagos Juvenile Home
TAF Celebrates Christmas with Girls at Lagos Correctional Facility

In a heartwarming festive gesture, the Tabitha-Abimbola Foundation (TAF) brought a special Christmas celebration to young girls at a juvenile correctional facility in Idi-Araba, Lagos. The event, held over the weekend, was part of the non-profit's annual outreach program designed to support underprivileged children.

Spreading Hope and Joy During the Festive Season

The initiative, tagged “Christmas with Less Privileged Children 3.0,” marked the foundation's 2025 Christmas outreach and represented a strategic expansion to a new beneficiary group. Mrs Abimbola Agbebiyi, the Founder of the Lagos-based organisation, explained that the core mission was to restore hope, dignity, and self-worth in girls navigating challenging life situations.

"Christmas is a season for joy, reflection, and giving," Agbebiyi stated. "Our annual celebrations go beyond material gifts; they are about creating lasting moments of hope and genuine connection. This year, choosing to celebrate with these young girls is our way of affirming that they are seen, valued, and fully capable of overcoming their current circumstances."

A Track Record of Impactful Outreach

Since its establishment in 2023, the foundation has made significant strides, impacting the lives of more than 200 underprivileged children and their mothers by providing clothing and essential food supplies. Reflecting on the previous year's efforts, Agbebiyi noted that the 2024 outreach served over 100 children with special needs from various orphanages, distributing mobility aids, assistive learning devices, mattresses, and festive presents.

"For our 2025 outreach, we deliberately focused on celebrating Christmas with girls in a juvenile correctional facility," Agbebiyi emphasized. "The goal was to let them experience pure joy, care, and encouragement during this special period."

A Day of Inspiration and Practical Support

The Christmas event was packed with engaging and uplifting activities designed to inspire the girls. The programme featured dance and drama presentations, prayer sessions, words of affirmation, and reflective discussions aimed at helping the participants reconnect with their personal dreams and aspirations.

The celebration also included a festive visit from Santa Claus, a special Christmas meal, and the distribution of personalized gift packs. Each girl received a Bible, a journal, hygiene kits, and motivational storybooks. In a thoughtful gesture acknowledging the caregivers, the Foundation also presented raw food items to the staff at the facility, thanking them for their dedicated service.

Mrs Ojukotola Sumbo, the Head of the Special Correctional Centre for Girls, expressed profound gratitude for the foundation's visit and generosity. Sumbo affirmed that the impact of the gifts and the powerful dance drama performance on the theme, “Your future is bright,” would significantly contribute to the positive transformation of the girls in their care.

The Tabitha-Abimbola Foundation remains committed to its core mission of improving the lives of vulnerable women, children, and communities across Nigeria through targeted initiatives in education, health, empowerment, and social inclusion.
