Ondo Will Reward Tinubu with Votes, Says Youth Minister

The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ayo Olawande, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State to turn out in large numbers for the presidential direct primary election, emphasizing that the state will reward President Bola Tinubu with votes for his unprecedented support.

Mobilization for Primaries

Speaking on Friday, Olawande urged party faithful to participate actively in the primary process and unite ahead of the 2027 general elections to secure President Tinubu's reelection. He highlighted the president's commitment to national development and the tangible benefits that Ondo State has received under his administration.

Federal Projects in Ondo

The minister cited several ongoing federal interventions and infrastructure projects in the state, including the dualisation of the Akure–Ore Road, the Akure–Ado Road project, the establishment of a teaching hospital in Akure, and direct federal support for the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Teaching Hospital. According to Olawande, these projects reflect the Tinubu administration's dedication to improving infrastructure and healthcare delivery systems in Ondo State, yielding improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.

Unprecedented Representation

Olawande emphasized that Ondo State currently has three serving ministers in the Federal Executive Council, along with additional appointments of indigenes into ambassadorial positions and other strategic federal roles. He described this as an unprecedented level of federal representation for the state.

“The achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu speak for themselves, and Ondo State has been a direct beneficiary of his commitment to national development. For the first time in our history, Ondo State has three members in the Federal Executive Council. This is unprecedented. It shows the President’s belief in our capacity and our role in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” Olawande stated.

The minister maintained that this development reinforces the confidence the Tinubu administration places in the state’s political leadership and its contributions to national governance. He urged party members to reciprocate that trust through active participation in the democratic process.

Call to Action

Olawande called on all party faithful to turn out in large numbers for the forthcoming direct primary election, describing the exercise as critical to consolidating the hard-won gains of the current administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We are ready. Ondo State is ready. We will stand united to ensure that the president returns to office to continue the good work he has started,” he stated.
