Adeniyi Johnson Decries Rising Insecurity in Nigeria

Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has expressed deep frustration over the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, questioning why many citizens now live in constant fear.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, the actor asked how the nation arrived at its current state, noting that Nigerians were promised ifọkànbalẹ (peace of mind) but are instead grappling with fear and uncertainty.

He also questioned whether bandits have become more knowledgeable than the country's security forces, emphasizing that the insecurity is now affecting people more closely than many imagined.

“Where is the ifọkànbalẹ you promised us? We can’t sleep with our eyes closed anymore. Are the bandits smarter or wiser than our entire military force? It is now closer to us than we think. Government, please do the needful now,” he wrote.

The actor's outcry adds to the growing chorus of voices demanding urgent action from authorities to address the security challenges plaguing the nation. Many Nigerians have taken to social media to echo his sentiments, sharing personal experiences of fear and helplessness.

Johnson's statement highlights the deepening concern among citizens, who feel that promises of safety and stability have not been fulfilled. The actor, known for his roles in Yoruba-language films, has joined other public figures in calling for decisive measures to restore peace.
