A brutal attack by suspected bandits has left a community in Gombe State in mourning after the killing of a prince and his pregnant sister, with four other family members taken away.
Details of the Deadly Night Raid
The assailants struck in the early hours of Saturday, December 27, 2025, invading a private residence in Pindiga town, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State. The attackers killed Prince Yusuf Derdoski, who was widely known as Daddy, and his sister, Faiza, who was seven months pregnant. In a further devastating blow, the bandits abducted four other members of the family before fleeing the scene.
Governor's Condemnation and Security Response
The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has issued a strong condemnation of the murders and abductions. In a statement released by his Director-General of Press Affairs, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Governor described the act as barbaric, cruel, and completely unacceptable.
The Governor said the killing of innocent citizens in their homes, alongside the abduction of women and children, is a heinous crime that deeply offends humanity and challenges the peace and security Gombe State has worked hard to sustain, the statement read. He characterized the attack as a direct assault on the collective conscience of the state.
Governor Yahaya has directed all necessary resources to be deployed immediately. He disclosed that the Nigeria Police and other security agencies have commenced intensive investigations and a manhunt for the perpetrators. The primary objectives are to track down the criminals, rescue the abducted victims unharmed, and ensure all involved face justice.
