Nana Batula and her two children have regained their freedom after spending one month in the captivity of armed bandits in Zamfara State. The family was abducted from their residence in Tsafe Local Government Area on May 30, 2026, during a raid that also claimed the life of Nana's husband, Sagir Umar.
Details of the Abduction and Release
According to security analyst Bakatsine, who confirmed the release on July 1, 2026, the victims were set free after negotiations involving community leaders and security agencies. A source close to the family expressed gratitude to Allah for their safe return, noting that the family had been in constant prayer throughout the ordeal.
Medical and Psychological Support
The victims are currently receiving medical and psychological support to help them recover from the trauma of their captivity. Local authorities have not disclosed whether any ransom was paid or if any arrests have been made in connection with the kidnapping.
