Four-Year-Old Nigerian Girl Killed in Edmonton Collision
Police in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, are investigating a collision that claimed the life of a four-year-old Nigerian girl, Rayna Chiziterem Okoli. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in the McConachie neighbourhood, near 66 Street and 170 Avenue.
At around 5:15 p.m., Rayna was walking through a parking lot with her mother when she broke free, ran onto 66 Street, and was struck by a Jeep. Bystanders immediately provided assistance and called emergency medical services. The child was rushed to the Stollery Children's Hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Driver Cooperates; Investigation Ongoing
The 23-year-old driver of the Jeep remained at the scene. According to Edmonton police, neither speed nor impairment is believed to have contributed to the collision. The Major Collision team is handling the investigation.
Rayna is remembered by her loved ones as a bright, joyful, and deeply cherished child who brought happiness to everyone around her. Her sudden passing has devastated her family, who are now facing unexpected funeral and memorial expenses.

Rayna tragically lost her life in an accident near the 66th Street NW area on Sunday, June 14th, 2026. She was only four years old. Rayna was a bright, joyful, and deeply loved little girl whose presence brought warmth and happiness to everyone around her.”
The family humbly requests support from the community, friends, and anyone moved by Rayna’s story. They emphasize that no amount is too small and ask for shares to help reach potential donors. “Your kindness, prayers, and generosity mean more than words can express.
