Agbese Alleges Ugochinyere Forged His Signature for Minority Leader Endorsement
Agbese Alleges Ugochinyere Forged His Signature

Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, has raised serious allegations against fellow lawmaker Ikenga Ugochinyere, claiming that his signature was used without authorisation to support the purported endorsement of Ugochinyere for the position of Minority Leader.

Agbese Denies Endorsing Ugochinyere

In a statement issued on Friday, Agbese clarified that while he signed a document alongside Ugochinyere for a specific purpose, he never approved its use for endorsing any leadership ambition. He described the alleged act as a clear case of forgery.

"For the avoidance of doubt, I signed a document with Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere for a specific purpose. However, my signature was later used for an entirely different and unauthorised purpose," Agbese stated. The lawmaker maintained that he did not endorse Ugochinyere for the Minority Leader position and called the misuse of his signature a forgery.

Agbese Calls for Integrity and Due Process

Agbese emphasised that he would continue to sign official documents in the course of his legislative duties but would not permit his signature to be used for actions that could undermine the integrity of the House. He also raised concerns over attempts by certain individuals to obtain his signature and referenced allegations surrounding the matter.

"I remain open and willing to appear before any relevant Committee of the House for a full, transparent, and impartial review of all the facts surrounding this issue," Agbese added, urging all parties to allow due process and established House procedures to resolve the matter.
