Bolt Driver Stabbed to Death in Abuja Car Snatching

Car snatchers allegedly stabbed a Bolt driver to death in the Wuse Zone 6 area of Abuja. The identity of the driver has not yet been confirmed. Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred around 10:23 pm last Wednesday during a heavy downpour.

According to a Daily Trust report published on Tuesday, June 2, the driver had picked up two male passengers near the Lusaka and Tunis streets area of Wuse and was heading toward the Wuse Market axis. The suspects allegedly attempted to force him to divert to another location. Sources said the driver refused to comply, leading to a struggle as the suspects reportedly grabbed the steering wheel.

The confrontation caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which crashed into an electric pole. An eyewitness, Gabriel Audi, said the suspects then attempted to seize the vehicle, sparking a violent struggle with the driver. The driver resisted the attack and tried to reclaim control of the car before he was allegedly stabbed with a knife during the confrontation.

“While attempting to escape with the vehicle through adjoining routes leading to Wuse Market, the suspects lost control and crashed into an electric pole. They immediately abandoned the car and fled the scene,” Audi said. He added that police officers who later arrived at the scene discovered that the driver had died from his injuries.
