Bride-to-be, 27, killed in hit-and-run at bus stop in San Diego

A 27-year-old bride-to-be was tragically struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while waiting at a bus stop in San Diego, and her family is demanding justice. According to police, Katie Osorio was fatally hit by a driver who drove onto the sidewalk, striking the young woman as she sat inside a partially enclosed bus bench waiting to go to her second job. The driver fled the scene after the collision.

The incident occurred on Friday, May 22, at the intersection of National Avenue near 35th Street in San Diego. Osorio was taken to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries, as reported by ABC10 News. A GoFundMe page for Katie stated, 'Tragically, while waiting at a bus stop in San Diego, Katie was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. She fought bravely to stay alive, but sadly, she passed away. Our family is devastated by this sudden loss, and we are doing everything we can to honor her memory and support her loved ones during this heartbreaking time.'

Family Seeks Justice

Osorio's cousin, Evelin Osorio, revealed that Katie was preparing to enroll in a nursing program and was busy planning her wedding to her fiancé, scheduled for December. 'A big wedding in Mexico City in December and doing a courthouse in July,' Evelin said. The cousin added that witnesses at the scene found the bride's phone and contacted family members to inform them of the tragedy. 'There were people at the scene notifying us, the person kind of reversed and tried leaving, and did go over her body again,' Evelin recounted. 'Just the act of not stopping is a vicious and cruel crime. We want justice for Katie. We want for her name to continue living on.'
