A Florida woman convicted in the death of an OnlyFans model and Kim Kardashian lookalike has been sentenced to four years in prison. Vivian Alexandra Gomez, 53, was sentenced on Tuesday, June 16, after a San Mateo County, California, jury found her guilty of involuntary manslaughter in March.
Details of the Case
Prosecutors stated that Gomez performed several unlicensed silicone injections on Christina Ashten Gourkani, who died from complications in April 2023. Gomez reportedly said she will not appeal the conviction and wants to "just go to prison and do her time," according to the local Daily Journal, which also reported the four-year sentence.
The 44-year-old victim died of respiratory failure and a pulmonary embolism linked to the illegal Brazilian butt lift, which was intended to make her resemble Kim Kardashian, prosecutors told the local Daily Post. Gomez, who carried out the procedures in a California hotel room, was also convicted of practicing medicine without a license, a felony.
Warnings from Authorities
Authorities warn that bargain-basement fanny-fattening procedures are more dangerous than many aspiring divas realize. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng told People magazine that such illicit operations have proved fatal on many occasions.
"Most of these illegal injections are made with silicone, and silicone or any foreign substance can migrate within the body, which can lead to infection and hardness over time, deforming parts of the body," Obeng said. "And as with any injection, it can go into your bloodstream. And if it gets in the bloodstream, it can block the blood vessels and cause necrosis," he added, referring to the death of vital cells.
