D4vd Accused of Child Porn Possession in Murder Case

Singer D4vd, who is accused of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, allegedly had a significant amount of child pornography on his iPhone, according to prosecutors. During a court appearance on Thursday, Los Angeles County prosecutors stated that the singer, whose real name is David Burke, was found with a large volume of illicit material on his cellphone.

Prosecutors Reveal Evidence

Prosecutors reported that 40 terabytes of evidence were collected over a month-long investigation, including a substantial amount of child pornography discovered on Burke's phone. They plan to provide bodycam footage, DNA trace evidence, property reports, vehicle reports, photographs, and forensic reports to the defense team.

Court Proceedings

Burke is scheduled to return to court on April 29. The hearing occurred just three days after he entered a not guilty plea to all charges. His legal team largely shielded him from view, but cameras captured him in black clothing and handcuffs, appearing emotionless as he tilted his head.

Members of Rivas' family sat together during the plea; one wiped away tears and was comforted by an attorney.

Cause of Death Released

The cause of Rivas' death was disclosed on Wednesday. The 14-year-old died from multiple penetrating injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Odey Ukpo expressed gratitude that the information could now be released, emphasizing the importance of transparency for the grieving family and the community.

Patrick Steinfeld, attorney for the Rivas family, released a statement saying the family is devastated by the medical examiner's findings, which detail the gruesome death of their daughter. He requested privacy and understanding as they process the information.

Arrest and Disturbing Timeline

Burke was arrested last Thursday and seen in handcuffs as he was taken from his Hollywood Hills home. Prosecutors outlined a disturbing timeline of the relationship between Rivas and D4vd leading up to the alleged murder. Between September 2023 and September 2024, Burke allegedly engaged in continuous sexual abuse involving three or more acts of substantial sexual conduct, suggesting Rivas may have been as young as 12 when the abuse began.

Rivas' body parts were found in two separate cadaver bags inside Burke's Tesla, with her head and torso in one bag and other parts in another. Insects were swarming over her remains, according to unsealed court documents. She had been reported missing by her family in April.
