Delta Police Chief Vows Justice for Ozoro Sexual Assault Victims
Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Aina Adesola, has personally led a high-level delegation to Ozoro in response to alarming reports of sexual harassment in the community. The visit underscores the command's urgent commitment to addressing these serious allegations and ensuring public safety.
Condemnation and Commitment to Justice
CP Adesola, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and other senior officers, condemned the alleged sexual assaults in totality. She reassured residents that the police are resolutely determined to identify, arrest, and prosecute all individuals involved, in strict accordance with the law.
"We are fully committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and restoring peace in Ozoro," Adesola stated during the visit. The command is actively encouraging victims and witnesses to come forward with credible information, with a guarantee that all details will be handled with strict confidentiality to protect those affected.
Proactive Policing Efforts in Drug Enforcement
In a related demonstration of proactive law enforcement, the Delta State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on illicit drug activities. On March 17, 2026, operatives from the DOPS Bufallo patrol team, in collaboration with the Achalla Ibusa Vigilante group, conducted a sting operation at the residence of a notorious drug baron known as 'Madam do good' in the Power Line Axis of Asaba.
During this raid, authorities recovered a significant quantity of illicit substances, including Ice, Collorado, Canadian Loud, weed suspected to be Indian Hemp, and tramadol. Four suspects—Faith Uyaterimo, Peter Nnamani, Paul Nnamani, and Abuchi Miracle—along with three others, were arrested. All suspects and exhibits are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
Cultist Arrest and Weapon Recovery
Further highlighting the command's vigilance, on March 19, 2026, acting on credible intelligence, operatives from the Ekpan Police Station arrested 18-year-old Ovie Ejeh, a suspected cultist, near Wangwe College in Warri. Ejeh was reportedly acting suspiciously in the area, prompting police intervention.
Upon his arrest, a search revealed a locally fabricated cut-to-size single-barrelled gun along with two live cartridges. During interrogation, Ejeh confessed to being a member of a cult group. The suspect and the recovered weapon have been taken into custody, with ongoing investigations aimed at dismantling related criminal networks.
Strategic Policing Mandate
CP Adesola has mandated all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and tactical commanders to embrace a proactive policing strategy, emphasizing that this approach is essential for effective crime fighting in modern times. She issued a stern warning to drug dealers, stating that they will be "fished out of their places of abode, arrested, and made to face the full wrath of the law."
This comprehensive response reflects the Delta State Police Command's broader efforts to combat crime through community engagement, intelligence-led operations, and rigorous enforcement of the law.
