Doctor Denies Issuing Cancer Report to Blessing CEO as Lawyer Warns Donors
The doctor whose name appeared on the alleged breast cancer report of influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has released a statement denying any involvement in issuing the document. This development comes after a video of Blessing CEO discussing her alleged cancer diagnosis on a live TV interview went viral, sparking widespread scrutiny of her medical claims.
Doctor's Statement Debunks Claims
In a statement shared through the Nigerian Medical Association, Dr. O.A. Odigwe, proprietor of Xinus Medical Diagnostics in Asaba, Delta State, clarified that his facility did not issue any report to Blessing CEO. He explained that in May 2025, the diagnostics center was contacted by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba to conduct a confirmatory test for a possible case of breast cancer for a patient named Mbara Deborah.
The test was performed, and the result was issued to the referring doctor on May 9, 2025, Dr. Odigwe stated. He confirmed that the document circulating online from the law firm Allen Juris Law is the original version issued to the patient through her hospital, with Mbara Deborah listed as the patient.
Lawyer's Strong Message to Donors
A Nigerian lawyer, identified as The People's Parliament on Facebook, shared the doctor's statement and sent a strong message to those who donated to Blessing CEO amid her cancer claim. The lawyer wrote, "If you have donated to the account she dropped, you can now go ahead to press charges. The road is clear now in the Name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit. Ignorance of the law is no excuse."
This message has sparked reactions online, with many users expressing skepticism and calling for accountability. For instance, Ubong Japhet Effiong commented, "For the first time atanda don add Stony beans for the new awaiting intake," while Ambrose Ndubisi Ndukwe noted, "I have earlier said that in Blessing CEO Case, prison delayed is not prison denied."
Background of the Controversy
Blessing CEO, a content creator and self-acclaimed relationship therapist, recently appeared on Arise News on April 4, 2026, where she maintained that her doctor informed her she had Stage 4 cancer. She presented a medical report during the interview, which was later identified as the same document that a family had called her out for, alleging it belonged to someone else.
Multiple reports have cast doubts on Blessing CEO's cancer claim, with findings suggesting the medical report she posted online allegedly belonged to another individual. During the interview, lawyer Inibehe Effiong advised Blessing CEO amid the inconsistencies noticed by a doctor on the show.
Legal Implications and Public Reaction
Previously, a lawyer had weighed in on the viral issue, listing potential jail terms that could await Blessing CEO if found guilty of criminal offences related to altering and using a cancer patient's medical report. The public reaction has been mixed, with some urging caution and others demanding justice.
Zinwota Daniel Dieu-donné remarked, "She can’t escape this time around," reflecting a growing sentiment for legal action. The controversy highlights broader concerns about misinformation and fraud in online spaces, particularly involving health claims and charitable donations.
As the situation unfolds, stakeholders are calling for thorough investigations to ensure transparency and accountability. The doctor's denial adds a significant twist to the saga, potentially paving the way for legal proceedings against Blessing CEO and raising questions about the ethics of public fundraising based on unverified medical claims.
