Ebonyi Police Launch Investigation into Abduction of Three Siblings by New Tenant
Men of the Ebonyi State Police Command have officially confirmed the distressing abduction of three siblings by a newly arrived female tenant in the Nwezenyi community, located within Igbeagu, Izzi Local Government Area. The victims, identified as Favour, Obinna, and Kamso Okeoha, were reportedly taken by the suspect on Saturday, February 28, while their parents were absent from the home.
Police Response and Community Shock
Confirming the incident to journalists, the command's spokesperson, Joshua Ukandu, stated that a thorough investigation has been initiated to locate and rescue the children. Ukandu emphasized that this event has profoundly unsettled residents of the community, who are now living in fear and uncertainty.
Speaking anonymously, several locals expressed their shock and disbelief, noting that the suspect had only recently moved into the compound. One resident disclosed that the woman rented the apartment on Thursday and moved in the very next day, making her stay extremely brief before the abduction occurred on Saturday.
Details of the Suspect's Behavior
Another neighbor, who also requested anonymity, described the suspect as appearing friendly and engaging in activities that seemed to foster a positive impression. She reportedly painted her room and inscribed the phrase "One Love" on the wall, actions that neighbors now view as potentially deceptive tactics to gain trust among other tenants.
The community remains in a state of distress, with many questioning the suspect's true identity and motives, as her background remains unknown to residents. This incident highlights ongoing security concerns in the area and underscores the need for vigilance in residential settings.
