Men of the Katsina State Police Command have apprehended four individuals in connection with a horrific mob action that resulted in the death of one KC Joe at Kokami village in Danja Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued by the command's spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq, the tragic incident unfolded from a minor argument between the victim, KC Joe, and one Ibrahim Auwal. The disagreement quickly escalated into violence, with Joe reportedly stabbing Ibrahim Khalil Auwal during the altercation.

The injured Auwal was rushed to Abdullahi Makama Hospital in Dabai, where he was later confirmed dead. Upon hearing the news of his death, enraged youths in the community mobilized, attacked Joe, killed him, and set his body ablaze along the highway.

Police Condemn Mob Justice and Urge Public Cooperation

Sadiq confirmed that four persons have been arrested in relation to the mob action. The state Commissioner of Police, Ali Fage, strongly condemned the unfortunate incident, urging members of the public to always report issues to the nearest police station and avoid taking laws into their own hands.

He further called on the public to remain law-abiding, assuring that the case will be thoroughly investigated to ensure justice is served. Those involved will face the full force of the law, according to the police commissioner.
