A housewife identified as Fatima has allegedly stabbed her husband, Auwalu, to death less than two months after their marriage in Kano State.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Rimin Kebe quarters in Ungoggo Local Government Area following an argument between the couple. Sources said the pair were not in love when they married.
Witness Account
A resident of the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Daily Trust that the deceased cried out for help after being attacked. The source said the woman allegedly stabbed the deceased over what she called a forced marriage, claiming she never liked her slain husband.
"She hit his throat with a knife. He came out shouting that it was his wife who stabbed him. He was rushed to the police station and later to the hospital, but he died before arrival," the source said.
Arrest and Investigation
The suspect was immediately arrested by officers of Zango Police Division in Dantamashe. "Their marriage is less than two months old. The wife is presently under police custody," the source added.
