According to Jola's initial social media narration, the confrontation began when the elderly woman complained about noise emanating from Jola's phone. Jola claimed she reduced the volume, but the older woman allegedly continued to insult and verbally abuse her. The situation escalated when, as per Jola's account, the elderly woman slapped her twice, prompting Jola to retaliate physically.
In her now-deleted posts, Jola boasted about beating up the woman and taunted the woman's children, which sparked significant public outrage and condemnation across various platforms.

The elderly woman's child successfully traced Jola and facilitated her arrest. The child shared videos and photos from the police station, emphasizing a firm stance against disrespect towards their mother.
