The Lagos State Police Command has taken decisive action to address circulating messages alleging a potential cult-related clash in specific areas of Surulere, including Shitta, Akerele, Itire/Aguda, and Ishaga. In a recent statement, the command emphasized that proactive measures have been implemented to prevent any breakdown of law and order, following initial reports of the incident.

According to the police, prompt deployment of personnel and operational assets has been carried out to all mentioned locations and adjoining communities. Commissioner of Police CP Tijani Fatai has directed intensified patrols, strategic positioning of officers, and increased police visibility across identified flashpoints to ensure the safety of lives and property. The command asserts that these areas are now well secured, with adequate security coverage in place to deter any unlawful gatherings or activities.
