The Oyo State Police Command has made an arrest in a deeply disturbing case involving the alleged sexual assault of a minor on Christmas Day. A 22-year-old man is now in custody, accused of violating a 17-year-old girl after plying her with an intoxicating substance.

According to a statement released by the command's spokesperson, DSP Alanyande Olayinka, the incident was reported to the Alakia Adelubi Division on December 25. The report detailed a case of sexual assault against a 17-year-old female victim.
Preliminary investigations by the police swiftly identified a suspect. The individual, named as Daniel Ajibola, a 22-year-old male, is alleged to have administered a drink to the teenager to incapacitate her before having unlawful carnal knowledge.
Police Action and Suspect's Confession
The police response was immediate and thorough. The victim was taken to a hospital for a crucial medical examination to secure evidence and ensure her well-being. Officers also visited the scene of the incident to gather further proof.
The suspect, Daniel Ajibola, was arrested and has reportedly confessed to the crime. He is currently in police custody as the investigation progresses.
