Woman alleges brutal assault by husband

A Nigerian woman, Uthman Muneerah, has publicly cried out for help after she was allegedly battered by her husband, Jamiu Lamidi. In a Facebook post on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026, she shared a video showing the weapon her husband used to assault her, accusing him of subjecting her to physical and emotional abuse, even shortly after giving birth.

Refusal to be silenced

I will never be Osinachi and other women who d!ed of domestic violence." The latest incident, which occurred between 12:00 and 1:00 am, has left her feeling unsafe with nowhere to go with her child.

Call for accountability

She named her husband publicly, writing: "His name is Jamiu Lamidi. He works at TOTAL ENERGIES FUEL STATION Berger opposite FIRS FCT ABUJA. He abuse me physically and emotionally. Even when I gave birth newly, he abused me." She added, "Society/Culture has made marriage a do or die. I can no longer keep quiet." In a later update, Muneerah said she is now in a safe place.
