Ogun Police: Intercepted Bus Carried Workers, Not Criminals

The Ogun State Police Command has officially refuted earlier reports that a bus intercepted along the Ibogun Road axis in Ifo was carrying suspected criminals. In a statement released by the command, it clarified that the vehicle was transporting legitimate workers employed by a construction company.

Police Response and Investigation

According to the police, surveillance and anti-robbery teams were deployed on June 3, 2026, following intelligence about a suspicious bus. Upon interception, the officers discovered that the bus was conveying 21 labourers working on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Ifo–Ibogun Road, a federal project.

Further investigations confirmed that all occupants were legitimate employees of the construction firm handling the road project. The police emphasized that no criminal activity was involved.
