The Ebonyi State Police Command has apprehended Nwali Nwibo for disseminating false information alleging an invasion of bandits and Fulani herdsmen in Nguzu Edda Community, Edda Local Government Area.
Arrest Details
SP Joshua Ukandu, the command's spokesperson, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Saturday. He said the arrest followed a thorough, intelligence-driven investigation that confirmed the report was false, leading to the suspect's capture.
CP's Warning
Commissioner of Police, CP Hope Okafor, urged residents to verify the accuracy of information before posting or sharing on social media and other platforms. She cautioned against spreading false information that could cause panic, fear, and disrupt law and order.
