Police Arrest Two Wanted Robbery Suspects in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command has recorded a significant breakthrough in its fight against crime with the arrest of two men described as notorious armed robbers.

Intelligence-Led Operation Leads to Arrest

Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives successfully apprehended Kabiru Isah and Monday Bulus on January 10, 2026, at about 10:00 pm. The duo had been on the command's wanted list for their alleged involvement in a series of robbery incidents across the state.

Firearms Recovered in Follow-Up Raid

During the initial operation, a G3 rifle without a serial number was recovered from the suspects. In a follow-up operation conducted on Sunday, January 11, detectives secured another weapon, a pump-action rifle.

The Command's Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, who disclosed the information in a statement in Lafia, revealed that preliminary investigation showed the suspects had entered Lafia with criminal intent.

"They were lurking around Azuba Centre, a suburb of Lafia Local Government Area, with the intention of carrying out a criminal operation, not knowing that they were already under police surveillance before nemesis caught up with them," the statement read in part.

Commissioner Commands Officers, Vows Justice

The State Commissioner of Police, Shetima Mohammed, praised the operatives for their professionalism and gallantry. He has ordered a thorough investigation into the case.

CP Mohammed further charged all officers and men of the command to sustain the offensive against criminal elements and to continue dealing decisively with lawbreakers in Nasarawa State.

SP Nansel added that the suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation, a move intended to serve as a deterrent to others with similar intentions.
