According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, two armed suspects, one reportedly dressed in a mobile police uniform and operating on a motorcycle, stormed the filling station. After purchasing fuel, they demanded money from the fuel attendant.
When the attendant, identified as 20-year-old Jibrin Inuwa from Garun Mallam, resisted their demands, one of the suspects shot him in the chest. The assailants then fled the scene with an undisclosed sum of money. The victim was rushed to the General Hospital in Kontagora, where he was confirmed dead. His body was later released to his family for burial according to Islamic rites, adding a somber note to the community's grief.
