Sanctuary Visit Escalates into Violent Confrontation and Tragedy
In a shocking turn of events, the Morades, a couple who had ceased attending their local church, the Sanctuary, made a blunt demand to the pastoral team: they would only return if the General Overseer, Pastor Tomoloju, paid them a personal visit. The pastoral team, believing this was a positive step towards reconciliation, promptly relayed the message to the ebullient pastor. Pastor Tomoloju, eager to understand why the couple had stopped worshipping at the Sanctuary and hoping to save their souls, decided to make an impromptu visit that same sunny afternoon.
Pastoral Goodwill Met with Sudden Violence
Accompanied by two workers from the Sanctuary, Pastor Tomoloju drove to the Morades' compound in his exotic Lexus convertible jeep. Upon arrival, the gate was opened, and he entered the beautiful premises pleasurably. The Morades were inside their living room when the tall pastor, dressed in sartorial elegance, was ushered in. He greeted them gaily, expressing his happiness to be their guest and his desire for their presence in the place of worship. He urged them to explain why they had stopped attending, emphasizing his wish for their salvation and a place in paradise.
However, the atmosphere shifted dramatically when Mrs. Morade stood up instantly after the pastor's speech. In a jiffy, she pounced on him, grabbing his right ear and screaming accusations. She blamed him for their problems and their decision to leave the Sanctuary, citing his last confession on Thanksgiving Day as evidence that he had killed their innocent baby. With her last sentence, she sank her teeth into his right ear and bit it off, causing the pastor to shout in excruciating pain as blood spilled all over the floor.
Murder and Swift Justice Follow the Attack
As Pastor Tomoloju cried out for God's help, thinking his agony might be over, Mr. Toye Morade appeared with a sparkling machete. The pastor attempted to flee, but Toye swiftly cornered him before he could escape through the door. Swinging the machete wildly, Toye aimed at the pastor's head. Although the pastor ducked the first strike, the second hit its target, causing his head to roll onto the floor. Pastor Tomoloju collapsed and died instantly.
The couple was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with murder and manslaughter. They were arraigned in court and, the following month, sentenced to life imprisonment. This development, however, was short-lived, as they spent only two years behind bars before a brilliant first-class lawyer, Olaiya Thomas (SAN), took up their case. Arguing in their favor, he begged for leniency and pardon from the Federal Government. Under a Prerogative of Mercy, the Morades regained their freedom that same month.
Divine Intervention Brings Redemption and Joy
The awesomeness of God manifested once again in the lives of the Morades when Mrs. Morade became pregnant at an advanced age. This was seen as a magnanimous act and the height of grace from the Almighty God. Nine months later, she was delivered of twins—two lovely, bouncing baby boys. The couple became immensely happy for what God had done in their lives, finding their rhythm once again and living with delight and gratitude. They lived happily ever after, a testament to unexpected redemption and divine blessings.
