Tragic Fire Claims Lives of Two Young Sisters in Ondo State
In a heartbreaking incident over the weekend, two siblings lost their lives in a devastating fire that consumed their apartment in Ode-Aye, located within the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. The victims have been identified as six-year-old Queen Ohwo and her four-year-old sister, Everlyne, both children of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ohwo.

The fire erupted at the family's residence on Olaribigbe Street, in the Zion axis of the community, trapping the young girls inside. According to the Ondo State Police Command, which confirmed the tragedy, preliminary investigations point to negligence as the likely cause. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, stated that the blaze may have originated from careless activities during cooking, highlighting a tragic oversight in culinary practices.
Jimoh further reported that the remains of the deceased children have been evacuated to the health centre in Ode-Aye. Their parents are said to be in a state of profound shock and trauma following the loss. In response to the incident, police operatives swiftly visited the scene to document the area, taking photographs and conducting necessary procedures.
