A devastating incident has shaken the Ogale community in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, where six members of the same family were discovered dead inside their apartment.
Discovery of the Deceased
Neighbours became concerned on the morning of Sunday, January 11, 2026, when the family's door remained locked past 10 a.m. After repeated attempts to get a response failed, they were forced to break into the residence. Inside, they made the grim discovery of all six occupants lifeless.
The deceased have been identified as Obele Theophilus, his wife, their children, and his brother-in-law. According to sources, the family had retired to bed on Saturday night but never woke up.
Scene of the Tragedy
The positions of the bodies painted a harrowing picture of the final moments. Obele Theophilus and the children were found on the bed. His wife was discovered in the bathroom. The brother-in-law was located near the door, suggesting a possible attempt to open it before succumbing.
