A disturbing incident has been narrated by an Abuja-based lady, Precious Emike, who recounted how a son set his father's house on fire after his mother refused to give him money. The event occurred in her neighborhood on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
According to her account, the son locked the house before setting it ablaze. The fire service responded promptly, with five trucks deployed to the scene, and one remained on site even after the fire was contained. Emike praised the fire service for their efforts in preventing further destruction.
In her words: "In my 30 something years on earth, yesterday was the first time I saw a house burning live. I've always seen them online. A son set his father's house on fire and locked the house because the mum refused to give him money. We had 5 fire service truck in our area yesterday and one is still there till now. Kudos to the fire service, they really did their best."
