A Texas teaching aide has admitted to exposing a 7-year-old girl's chest in front of young students and comparing the child to an adult film star, according to court documents.
Incident Details
T'Nae Harrell, 36, confessed when questioned by investigators about her disturbing behavior, which was witnessed by elementary school children and four other staff members, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
She allegedly made inappropriate comments about the girl's body during class on April 29 before pulling up the child's shirt, exposing her chest, and comparing her to a “porn star” while speaking with another staffer, according to the documents.
Investigation and Charges
Harrell's behavior was captured on security cameras and reported last Monday, prompting an investigation. She was fired from her role at Legacy Elementary School on Thursday.
The now-fired aide has been booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on a charge of voyeurism involving a child under 18 on school premises. She faces a potential two-year prison sentence.
School District Response
Frenship Independent School District officials stated, “Reported behavior such as this is unacceptable and deeply concerning and goes against everything Frenship ISD stands for.” They added, “Creating a safe learning environment for all students is our top priority, and we take these investigations very seriously.”
The school has offered counseling to children, parents, and staff members following the incident.
