Three Injured in Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway Crash

Three individuals have sustained injuries in an auto crash that occurred along Eleja on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. The accident involved a Howo truck and a Mazda 323 taxi car with registration number ABB 700 XY.

TRACE Confirms Incident

Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), confirmed the incident to newsmen in a statement released in Abeokuta yesterday. According to Akinbiyi, five occupants were involved in the crash, with three of them sustaining injuries.

Cause of the Accident

Akinbiyi stated that the accident occurred due to overspeeding on the part of the truck driver, who lost control of the vehicle. In an attempt to avoid a head-on collision with the truck, the Mazda taxi driver veered off the road into the bush and struck a pole.

Rescue and Investigation

The TRACE PRO said that the accident victims were rescued by good Samaritans and taken to an unknown hospital. The accidented vehicle was evacuated from the road by the police to Obada Police station for further investigation.
