The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe, has apprehended two individuals in connection with the burglary of a grocery shop located in the Ado-Odo/Ota local council area of the state.
Suspects Identified
The suspects have been identified as Afolayan Sodiq and Muhammad Adamu. They were taken into custody by operatives of the Iyesi Area command during a routine patrol led by the Area Commander, ACC Samuel Yusuf.
Confirmation by Corps Commander
The Corps Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, confirmed the arrests in a statement released to the press by the Corps’ Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adebisi, in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Ganzallo disclosed that a tricycle belonging to Sodiq, which was loaded with various cartons of groceries and wine, was intercepted in the early hours of April 23, 2026. During interrogation, Sodiq claimed that a man named Mr. Lucky had requested his assistance to transport some goods from the Royal City College/Monarch University area in Iyana Iyesi, and he agreed to help using his tricycle, commonly known as Keke.
Arrest of Second Suspect
To apprehend the other suspects, the operatives instructed Sodiq to call Adamu and Mr. Lucky, pretending that everything was fine. This led to the arrest of Adamu, while Mr. Lucky became suspicious and failed to appear.
Items recovered from the suspects include cartons of wine, noodles, groundnut oil, and a yellow-colored motorcycle. After further interrogation, the suspects led the operatives to the crime scene for assessment.
Both suspects and the recovered exhibits have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Onipanu Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and likely prosecution.
