A 44-year-old UK returnee, Samson Onotakaroma Agidotan, who was kidnapped and killed in Delta State, has been laid to rest. The tragic incident was disclosed by a UK-based friend of the deceased, Omoike Erewele, in a Facebook post on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Erewele stated that he was unaware of the tragedy until Samson's wife contacted him on Thursday. According to her, Samson had returned to Nigeria to visit his family when he was kidnapped on January 24, 2026. His lifeless body was discovered in a bush on February 17, and he was laid to rest in his hometown, Okpanam, on May 22.
Describing Samson as a humble, kind, peaceful, and hardworking man, Erewele recounted receiving a phone call from a woman who asked if he knew someone named Samson. Initially thinking it might be a different person, he later realized it was his close friend. The woman, Samson's wife, had obtained his number from a phone Samson had given to their daughter.
Erewele expressed deep sorrow, noting that Samson was one of the best people he met in the UK. He urged everyone to value life and the people around them, as tomorrow is never promised.
