The University of Abuja has issued a strong warning to prospective students and the general public regarding misleading information about admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session. The institution clarified that the admission process has not yet commenced and urged candidates to disregard any unofficial announcements.
In a notice posted on its official X account on Sunday, May 31, the university stated that it has not begun the admission process for the 2026/2027 academic session and has released no official statement concerning admissions. The university noted that it has become aware of unauthorised admission information circulating through various platforms, including social media, websites, and other unofficial sources.
The university advised admission seekers to exercise caution and avoid individuals or entities claiming to have insider information about the upcoming admission exercise. All genuine updates regarding admissions will be disseminated exclusively through the university's official communication channels and the Admissions Office.
The management also urged the public to rely solely on verified platforms for accurate information. The university disassociated itself from all unauthorised admission publications and warned that it will not be held responsible for any losses incurred by individuals who engage with fraudsters or unofficial agents.
This warning comes as many prospective candidates across the country begin seeking information about admissions into higher institutions for the next academic session. The university's proactive stance aims to protect applicants from falling victim to scams and misinformation.
