Among these convictions, 11 high-profile drug kingpins were sentenced to a cumulative total of 254 years in prison, marking a robust enforcement effort by the agency.
This period also saw an increase in arrests, prosecutions, and asset forfeitures targeting drug traffickers and their accomplices across the nation. The breakdown of the 974 convictions reveals 265 in January, 316 in February, and 393 in March, with 899 male and 75 female offenders convicted.
Notable Convictions and Sentences
One of the most prominent cases involved Adegbite Solomon, also known as Obama, a 42-year-old businessman based in Italy. He was arraigned on a 15-count charge before Justice Musa Kakaki of the Federal High Court in Lagos. On March 18, 2026, Justice Kakaki convicted Solomon on all counts, sentencing him to a total of 130 years in prison. The judgment included the revocation of his pharmacy license, forfeiture of his pharmacy stores, and seizure of funds from his bank accounts to the Federal Government.

Marwa's Response and Commitment to the Fight Against Drugs
In response to these convictions, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, commended the judiciary for its swift handling of the cases. He emphasized that securing 974 convictions in just three months sends a clear message that Nigeria is no longer a safe haven for drug traffickers.
Marwa praised the bravery and dedication of NDLEA officers and personnel, promising to prioritize their welfare and provide the necessary tools to combat criminal syndicates effectively. He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, highlighting that these successes are largely due to citizen intelligence that fuels NDLEA operations.
This report underscores Nigeria's strengthened commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and ensuring justice is served swiftly and decisively.
