Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have successfully dismantled a major child trafficking syndicate, leading to the rescue of an eight-year-old boy and the arrest of six suspects.
How the Syndicate Was Uncovered
The breakthrough in the case came on January 14, 2026, when authorities received crucial information. The tip revealed that a missing child was in the protective custody of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abia State.
The young victim, identified as Jeremiah Bikwo, informed investigators that he was originally from Loko in the Nasarawa Local Government Area. Police detectives verified this claim, confirming the boy hails from Ogobo Village in Loko.
The N3 Million Transaction and Arrests
Following the trail to Abia State, detectives made a grim discovery on January 17, 2026. Their investigation uncovered that the young boy had been sold for the staggering sum of N3 million.
