An Edo-based pastor, Caleb Adavize Philip, who was kidnapped alongside his wife and sister, has recounted their traumatic ordeal in captivity. In a Facebook post on Thursday, June 11, 2026, he shared photos of himself, his wife, and his sister receiving medical treatment in a hospital after regaining their freedom.

Kidnappers demanded N50 million ransom

According to Philip, the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N50 million to secure their release. He recalled the harrowing days marked by torture, fear, insect bites, constant threats to life, and trekking long distances under the scorching sun and rain.

“I can’t forget this in a hurry, how we were kidnapped, myself, wife and sis for days and they were demanding for 50 million naira,” he wrote. “The worst prayer you could pray for your enemies is for them to be kidnapped, yes, that’s the highest.
