Gunmen have abducted a farm manager in Ondo State, in a brazen attack that has sent shockwaves through the local community. The incident occurred in the Imafon community, located in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, where the victim, Afolabi Ajayi, was taken by armed assailants.
Details of the Abduction
According to reports, the gunmen struck at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026. The victim had just alighted from his vehicle to enter the poultry farm when the attackers emerged from the bush and seized him. A family source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that since the abduction, the kidnappers have not made any contact with the family regarding a ransom demand.
“He came to the poultry farm this morning to check on the workers and oversee the farm’s operations, but the gunmen rushed out from the bush and took him to an unknown destination in the forest,” the source stated. The matter was promptly reported at the nearest police station, triggering an immediate response from law enforcement.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident and outlined the measures being taken. “The command has been notified of a kidnapping incident at Ilado, where a farmer was abducted while working on his farm,” he said. “A swift response, including additional security apparatus and tactical teams, has been deployed. They are currently combing the surrounding bush to ensure the safe rescue of the victim and the apprehension of the perpetrators.”
