Armed Invaders Strike Abuja Residential Estate
In a brazen security breach, armed men stormed a private residence at Leisure Court Phase 1 Estate in Lugbe, Abuja, during the early hours of Monday, November 10, 2025. The attackers targeted the home of Mr. Olusoji Litan on Mike Ekere Street at approximately 12:01 a.m., creating panic in the usually quiet neighborhood.
Victims Targeted During Family Visit
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the gunmen specifically abducted Mr. Litan's son, Oladeji Emmanuel, who had only arrived in Abuja to visit his parents on Friday, November 9. The young man's visit turned tragic when the assailants forced their way into the family home.
During the violent encounter, Emmanuel's fiancée, identified as Amanda, suffered gunshot wounds to both thighs. The attackers showed no mercy as they carried out their operation in the dead of night, leaving the family traumatized and the community in shock.
Emergency Response and Investigation
The estate's Chief Security Officer raised the alarm through a distress call received at about 12:25 a.m., prompting immediate deployment of police patrol teams. Law enforcement officers collaborated with hunters and vigilante groups to respond to the scene and begin pursuit operations.
Investigators recovered three expended 7.62mm ammunition shells from the compound, providing crucial evidence about the weapons used in the attack. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation.
Medical Response and Ongoing Manhunt
Amanda was quickly evacuated to Lawrence Margaret Teaching Hospital located at River Park Estate, where medical personnel are providing necessary treatment. Hospital sources confirm the victim is in stable condition despite the traumatic injuries to both her legs.
Security forces have launched an extensive operation to track down the fleeing kidnappers and rescue the abducted young man. The incident has raised serious concerns about security in Abuja's residential estates, particularly in areas like Lugbe under the Aco Division.
A check on Emmanuel's social media presence revealed his last post on X (formerly Twitter) was made around 10:38 a.m. on November 9, just hours before the terrifying ordeal began. The community remains on edge as authorities continue their search for the perpetrators.
