The Katsina State Government has confirmed that Nura Aliyu Garwa, a former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Community Development, was suspended prior to being identified as a suspected mastermind of a kidnapping syndicate. The syndicate is allegedly responsible for the abduction of an eight-year-old boy in Katsina metropolis.

Official Statement Details

In a statement issued on Monday, the Katsina State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Bala Salisu Zango, revealed that Garwa was suspended over allegations related to the diversion of empowerment materials. These materials were intended for communities in Batsari Local Government Area under the state’s Community Development Programme.

Background of the Case

The suspension occurred before Garwa's alleged involvement in the kidnapping came to light. The state government has not provided further details on the ongoing investigation but emphasized that due process was followed in the suspension.
